E-SIM is a software-based digital chip that comes along with a device directly embedded by the manufacturer. E-SIM replaces the traditional physical plastic SIM card for compatible devices and brings a whole new spectrum of benefits and possibilities.
9Mobile’s Acting Marketing Director, announced the launch of the E-SIM recently. He described it as the latest move by the company to deliver to its customers the most excellent experience that advanced technology provides. With this innovative I’m guessing sooner than later the likes of its competitors Airtel and Glo might follow suits.

HOW TO ACTIVATE A 9MOBILE E-SIM
Customers can walk into any of the 9mobile Experience Centres to request an E-SIM activation. A QR code will be provided to scan and download an E-SIM profile and perform the usual SIM registration.
Unlike MTN, 9mobile is giving out 7GB free data to a customer that activates the E-SIM. Old customers can just do a SIM swap at any 9mobile experience center near their location to also enjoy this offer. Those who purchase a new phone and want to swap back to regular SIM have no problems as they will get a physical SIM card at the 9mobile Experience Centre.
