MTN Nigeria is offering users a new data deal to lure them back to the network but most MTN users still don’t understand how the new MTN 4GB data works and who is eligible.


Majority of phone users in Nigeria today use smart phones and how can you enjoy a smart phone without internet access.
Few months back, Glo Nigeria launched the Glo Yakata, a plan that offer Glo users up to 6GB FREE data monthly when they recharge their lines.
To get all the facts about the new MTN 4GB for N1000, 1GB for N200 etc data offers, I spoke with a customer care operator at MTN.
So I am going to share all you need to know about the new MTN 4GB for N1000 and 1GB for N200 and codes to subscribe for the new MTN data offer.



The New MTN Data Offer

The new MTN Deal Zone offers the following 3 daily, weekly and monthly data plans;
4GB for N1000
1GB for N200
250MB for N100

How to Subscribe to MTN 4GB for N1000, 1GB for N200, 250MB for N100

MTN 4GB for N1000 – Dial *131*65# and choose 3 (Valid for 30 days)
MTN 1GB for N200 – Dial *131*65# and choose 2 (Valid for 7 days)
MTN 250MB for N100 – Dial *131*65# and choose 1 (Valid for 3 days)

SIM Validity and Eligibility for the MTN 4GB for N1000, 1GB for N200, 250MB for N100

All MTN valid Sim cards can access this new offer but not every MTN User is eligible for this new data offer.
According to an MTN Operator I spoke with, the offer is valid just for MTN customers who has not performed any rechargeable transaction on their Sim card for the past 30 days and above.
The subscription code stated above works on all MTN Sim cards but that is not the code to check eligibility of the new MTN 4GB data offer.
After dialing the code stated above, you are directed to the offer page that list the available offers but when you choose an option you’re directed to the next page which only tells you “Dear Customer, Enjoy data offers on MTN Deal zone, Dial *131*1#” and when you do so, you are directed to the main MTN data bundle offers that give you 1GB for N1000, 1.5GB for N1,200 and so on.

Can I Accumulate Data on the New Mtn 4GB data offer?

For those that are eligible for the MTN 4GB data offer, it is not yet certain if the data can be accumulated or rolled over. The MTN operator said it is not yet certain if MTN Nigeria will be gracious enough to allow accumulation of data in the new offer.
Remember, NCC recently mandated all network providers to make sure users are able to roll over data they are not able to exhaust to the next month.
